"SIGNS BY THE ROADSIDE":
CONTEMPORARY BRITISH PSYCHOANALYSIS

WEBINAR SERIES

SEPTEMBER 2021 – JULY 2022

Centre for Psychoanalysis: Clinic & Theory invites you to the introductory series of 11 lectures and discussion groups on contemporary British psychoanalysis. We hope to examine some of its basic theoretical concepts, their clinical use, and some of their broader applications to the arts. Our wish is to underline some of the key obstacles in the development of a healthy and creative personality, simultaneously examining the potential of psychoanalysis to be a road sign during in emotionally turbulent times. We are privileged to be guided on this road by experienced psychoanalysts from London, working with adults, as well as with children and adolescents.

The series is designed primarily having a general audience in mind, or anyone interested in learning more about the psychoanalysis, hence prior knowledge of the field is not necessary. One of the roles of the discussion groups following the lectures is to further examine and critically appraise the topic of a particular lecture. Experienced professionals in the field are however also welcome.

Webinars will be held on the second Saturday of the month on ZOOM platform starting at 5 PM (except October 2021 and January 2022: when they will be on the third Saturday). The 45 minute lectures will be followed by 30 minutes of plenary discussion. Those interested may continue work in smaller groups (maximum of 10 participants) for another 60 minutes. The number of participants in discussion groups is limited. For reasons of groups’ continuity, it is necessary to apply for three consecutive webinars minimum. The deadline for submitting Discussion Group Applications is September 1st, 2021.

Lectures will be held in English, but the questions in the discussion can be posed in Serbian as well. The smaller discussion groups will be held in Serbian.
